About the Program
Two programs highlighted three world premieres by Buglisi and Foreman: Requiem, by Buglisi, Lisa D. by Foreman featuring a commissioned score by Lisa DeSpain played live by the Cassatt String Quartet, and Dances for Seven, also by Foreman, to music by Gurdjieff/de Hartmann and played live by pianist Brian Zeger. Also performed was Buglisi's multi-media work Frida, inspired by the life and art of Frida Kahlo, Foreman's Mean Ole' World with its crisp struts and Jitterbuggy moves to award winning composer Lisa DeSpain's blues score played live by Catfish Corner, and Suspended Women where Buglisi's women live in an impenetrable realm of beauty caught in dreams of desire, despair, madness, and renunciation.
