About the Program |
Passion,
sensuality, beauty and humanity are at the heart of the four world
premieres and acclaimed repertory for this season. Sublime images
– magnificent dancers - compelling creative voices - seduce
the eye and ignite the imagination. Jacqulyn Buglisi’s devastatingly
beautiful Requiem, a tribute to 9/11, and Donlin Foreman’s
soulful Suite; Arms Around Me appear on programs with new works
featuring a score by sought-after composer Jennifer Higdon, live
music by Brian Zeger and Darrett Adkins of the FLUX String Quartet,
an original score for violin, cello and piano by award-winning composer
Andrew Waggoner played live for a world premiere by Foreman, and
Buglisi’s international collaborative project Bridging Boundaries/Common
Bonds with China’s virtuostic dancer Dou Dou Huang, extraordinary
composer Tan Dun and acclaimed cellist Maya Beiser and percussionist
Glen Velez. |
